How I got here
My interest in building things started through my experience with marketing and content creation. I’ve always liked figuring out how things work and finding ways to make repetitive tasks easier. Working on the marketing side of a luxury vehicle rental company gave me a place to actually apply that mindset, especially when I started looking for ways to improve the process behind the content I was creating.
That experience eventually pushed me toward building software of my own.
What I do now
I’m studying finance, accounting, and computer science at Michigan State University. Alongside school, I work on the marketing side of a luxury vehicle rental business that works with exotic cars, private jets, yachts, and helicopters. My role focuses on creating short-form video for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
That job is where a lot of my software ideas come from. Writing scripts, keeping track of the fleet, watching what competitors are posting, and planning content can involve a lot of repetitive work. I became interested in building tools that could make those processes simpler.
One of those projects is AutoScript, which started as a simple HTML file and grew into a tool designed around the way the business actually operates.
What I care about
I care about building things that are actually useful. I’m less interested in making something complicated just for the sake of it and more interested in understanding a problem first, getting something working, and improving it from there.
I also like combining different areas of interest. My background in marketing and content creation has shaped the way I think about technology, while studying finance and accounting has given me a stronger interest in how businesses operate.
Outside of work
Outside of school and work, I spend a lot of my time at Michigan State, staying active, going to the gym, spending time building connections, going out with friends and exploring new interests. I’m also interested in business, finance, technology, and finding ways to develop new skills outside of the classroom.
